A team from Deakin and the Australian National universities used MRI to measure the hippocampi – the two parts of the brain used for learning and memory- in people aged from 60-64.

Those who regularly ate junk food had a smaller left hippocampi than people who ingested nutrient dense foods such as vegies, fruits and fish.  Can this affect memory and learning, well who knows but nevertheless its an interesting article!
