Gps have started to understand that Anti depressants, especially when used without other types of therapies, in 30-40% of cases are no better than the placebo effect.  With one in ten Australians taking antidepressants, it would mean there are many tens out thousands of Australians who may be taking unnecessary medication and exposing themselves to some of the side effects of doing so.
