Hand Pain

These days, with the increasing use of external apparatuses, such as phone, computer, tablets, mouse and games, there is an increased risk for injuries and conditions that involve the elbow and hand. However, let’s not forget the additional forces that may play part in injury development, such as racquet/batting sports, throwing activities, and repetitive fine motor activities such as musical instrument playing, all of which may impact on the development of, and prolonging the recovery of upper extremity pain.

Furthermore, elbow and hand pain may not always be – “elbow and hand pain”, but yet manifestations of an underlying cause, for example, a condition originating from the neck or shoulder region. Hence, we recommend you obtain a specific diagnosis and appropriate treatment for the cause of the presenting pain, which is performed by your Osteopath.
Some of the common conditions seen within City Osteopathy, include that of Tennis or Golfer’s Elbow (Epicondylitis), Degeneration and Osteoarthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (Nerve Entrapment), Tendinitis, chronic Muscle/Tendon strains and Repetitive Stress Injuries.
At City Osteopathy, we aim to correctly assess, diagnose and manage presentations of the elbow and hand via the use of a variety of techniques.
