Sofie is fascinated by the bodies innate ability to heal itself. She believes that your overall health and wellbeing has an influence on this healing ability, and we as osteopaths can help the body be in optimal range for healing.

Sofie Rasmussen

Sofie completed her Bachelor and Masters of Osteopathy from Victoria University after finishing year 12 and spending 1 year at a Sports College in her home country Denmark.

She is passionate about osteopathy and loves to keep up to date with latest research as she is a keen learner. During her time as a student at Victoria University, she has worked as a sports trainer for Ormond Football Club, and has an interest in having the patient as an active part of the rehabilitation process. Her Masters research included assessing workplace ergonomics of a manufacturing company, and she is interested in giving workplace ergonomics assessments at your workplace.

She believes the stress of a typical 9-5 job, coupled with a seated desk posture has a major influence on our gut health. Nutrition can negatively or positively influence inflammation,  and Sofie can provide nutrition advice together with visceral treatment approaches in your consultation to suit your presenting complaint. She aims to provide a holistic treatment which is tailored to each individual.

Sofie is a passionate individual whom spends her spare time finding the best healthy cafes in town, as well as blogging her own healthy recipes on her blog Superfood By Sofie. She is an active individual with a basketball/netball background, enjoys running on the beach with her Kelpie ‘Gemma’, and riding her bright yellow bike around the streets of St Kilda.
